Where do republicans get advertising money?
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 17, 2010 1:09 pm
It appears that the Republican machine is outspending the Democratic Party in advertising by about seven to one. Anyone who doesn't stop to ponder this is doing themselves, and the country, a great intellectual and moral disservice.
Where is this money coming from, and why are people willing to spend so much of it? Why does the Republican Party not want people to know who their donors - and controllers - really are?
Thomas Jefferson was right - people do, in the end, get the kind of government they deserve. People who cannot see the hypocrisy and, in the end, inanity of people who do not believe in government trying to govern can, if people of good faith and conscience do not stop them, destroy everything that this nation is really about.
I think a society and government that do not exist for the equal benefit of all citizens are ultimately, and rightfully, doomed. We deserve better, and must all be a part of the effort. God bless and protect America from these misguided zealots.
