Where are elected officials during river cleanup?

I think it's wonderful that volunteers make the effort and take the time to clean up Iowa's waterways every year. I'm wondering how many of our elected officials were concerned enough to join in. I didn't see that any did. Just another snub to the concern about Iowa's environment.
