What transfers will be reported next?

The Gazette turned a sad corner in the April 15 edition of the sports page, 'Mims leaves Prairie, now at C.R. Xavier.”
It sensationalized the transferring of a high school athlete from one school to another in a front-page headline and an accompanying article. Rather than let a private decision take place, trumpeting this achievement is a slippery slope.
What is the new era that has been welcomed? Will The Gazette be there front and center to cover the big decision that an eighth-grader makes on what high school he or she will attend? Will there be a 'Transaction Column” where high school coaches and athletic directors will post when players elect to quit a sport or a disciplinary action toward a high school athlete? We expect gender and sport equity, so make sure you keep up. This type of story happens many times during an athletic year.
This is going to be great. My son saw the article. If I don't like my high school coach, I am transferring. 'Front page news,” he said.
