What is the Tea Party trying to do
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Please respond, any Tea Party person. Is the Tea Party trying to:
l Get rid of that nanny seat-belt law and get traffic safety back into crash prevention, where it belongs?
l Get rid of the favored status in our laws that are given to some people and/or groups? We're supposed to have equal rights for all in our Constitution.
l Work for the jury rights law/or amendment? Jurors must be told of their constitutional right to judge the “law and charges” as well as the defendant.
l Work for the right to choose doctor-assisted humane termination for the old, ill and suffering who “want” such a humane deliverance?
l Protect free choice in such personal and private matters as birth control, family planning, Planned Parenthood, anti-conception pills?
l Get rid of the paid professional lobbyists and influence that big money/big business has on our lawmakers? Such lawmakers should have to cater only to the common citizens.
l Get our laws and court system back to fairness and common sense. As it now is, someone gets a greater penalty for “possession of something” (even though the possessor didn't and didn't even intend to harm anyone or anything else), than someone else gets for an aggressive murder.
