What if Jan. 6 had gone differently?

What if … on Jan. 6, 2021, a certain Secret Service officer, driving the big black SUV, would have stopped when ordered by the emotional passenger and said, “OK, you want to be taken to the Capital and be with your fans. Here, I’ll open your car door.”
Donald and his fans walk up Pennsylvania Ave, just like he promised then he would. He smiles and waves to the moving mass on its way up to the Hill. Upon arrival he finds the nearest door and asks for directions. He had been to the Capitol only once for a funeral, and to give the State of the Union address.
Once near the Senate Chamber, the doors open, and he finds Mike, who just completed counting the votes. They have a face-to-face confrontation, just like in the old cowboy movies. “Hi, Mike, I came to see how you counted the votes.”
“I just finished, Don, and as predicted, you lost. I suggest you catch a ride back to the White House. It’s high time to start packing boxes for your trip to Florida.”
The so called “witch hunt” was over. The “witch” proponent was caught looking in a mirror.
And we all lived happily ever after, or did history end differently?
