What civil right has been violated?

The March 11 front page article “Complaint over psalm, image on fire truck” about a citizen complaint about the psalm image on the fire truck is a subject of annoyance to me.

Does one complaint justify knee-jerk reaction by the Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission's executive director? What civil right has been violated? Do firefighters have civil rights, too? Why should this image need to be removed or added to? Should Psalm 23 be removed from all church and funeral services because it might be misinterpreted? Should all images of Jesus be removed from churches?

Does this concerned citizen have answers to the above?

This issue reminds me of a quote from a wise old man in the 1960s. Apparently, someone had gotten in his face over something trivial. He said “Some people will go to heaven and complain because the harp is out of tune.” Ya think?
