What about soldiers with no awards?

I understand the purpose of Memorial Day is to honor our fallen soldiers. I fully support the Veterans Trail at Coralville Lake.
In the June 1 Gazette, Gen. Robert Sentman's stated that Purple Heart awards are worn by all trail members, but the trail is also home to an array of 55 Bronze Stars, 10 Silver Stars and one Medal of Honor.
What about the hundreds of thousands of men and women who answered the call of duty without hesitation to serve their nation proudly without being wounded or earning a star? That certainly makes them no less brave or less dedicated.
I do not agree with Sentman and his Band of Brothers (selection committee) on the criteria for which they select their veterans.
