What a generous gift for Senior Center project

I just read the article in The Green Gazette about the generous anonymous $2 million gift to help further the new senior center in Cedar Rapids. In a world where billionaires are buying access to political favors by donating to a “golden ballroom,” it’s heartwarming to read of such generosity that will benefit so many in our elderly population.

I also noticed in the article that $200,000 from the Biden administration’s American Rescue Plan Act will go toward this project. It’s refreshing to remember when we had a president who awarded states with funding regardless of how they voted. Sadly we now have an administration who withholds much needed funding from states for petty, punitive reasons! Thank you to whoever gave this donation and know that it will enrich so many lives of those who need it most!
