Wellington Heights can serve as an example

Thanks to Doug Neumann for his Feb. 16 letter. Many of us have deliberately chosen Wellington Heights for “our neighborhood.”
There are wonderful opportunities to become part of the fabric of a vibrant and diverse neighborhood: an active neighborhood association, a neighborhood center with organized celebrations of holidays, our history and our wish to help one another.
Choosing to build a new infill house in Wellington Heights was one of the best decisions I've made. The contractor remarked that the building site in Wellington Heights had no vandalism compared to other sites in what might be called the “high rent” district.
It would be wonderful if all the neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids could be as warm and welcoming as Wellington Heights.
