Weiner is an active part of community

I have known Janice Weiner, a candidate for the Iowa Senate, since she was a classmate of my daughter at West High School some years ago and I have followed her outstanding career in the foreign service for 26 years. When she retired from government work to Iowa City, I was one of many locals who welcomed a multitalented and committed volunteer to the ranks of our varied projects and organizations.

She is a member of the Shelter House and Agudas Achim boards. She works with Free Lunch and is a member of the Johnson County Democratic Central Committee. She was a field organizer for the Democrats in the 2016 election.

She has been an enthusiastic and welcome addition to all of our groups. I believe she will share that diligence and energy as our representative in Des Moines and will certainly bring her know-how and diplomacy skills and experience to the legislature. I heartily endorse her candidacy.
