Webber should teach community

The new animal shelter in Cedar Rapids is updated and beautiful. The community should have some sense of pride in this accomplishment.
But my concern is about our new director's leadership. The adoption rate is above national average and she attributes this to marketing - on whose part is this marketing being done?
Cedar Rapids' animal shelter has a community of great volunteers and organizations called Critter Crusaders, Iowa Humane Alliance, Last Hope Animal Rescue and Dogs Forever.
These organizations support and are the change of attitude to our animal population in Cedar Rapids.
We have a caring and compassionate community because of these organizations.
Diane Webber doesn't do this alone. She should give them some recognition and credit. As a citizen in Cedar Rapids, I thank those caring and giving volunteers.
Least, I forget, I added one kitten to the 134 population of homeless kittens and cats. I could've left it on the road; unfortunately, I thought to take it to the shelter.
Webber, don't complain to a citizen about bringing another stray in; be a leader about bringing the cat population down. It's called community education and that should be your job.
