Wearing a helmet is a personal choice

In response to the Feb. 10 article, “Students vow to keep pushing mo-ped helmet bill”: A law requiring riders of a motorized bike under the age of 18 should not be passed.
Although the intentions of the bill are meant well, the government is already greatly involved in almost everything we do. Wearing a helmet is a personal choice. Anyone who rides a motorcycle or mo-ped knows the consequences of not wearing one. The government should not have to monitor everything we do.
There are much larger issues that the government needs to be concerned about rather than worrying about whether or not everyone is wearing their helmet.
