Wealthy swayed election votes

To the editor:
The voters in Linn and Johnson counties should be congratulated for their excellent turnout to vote. However, 53 percent of the voters nationwide couldn't do what real Americans should do.
It's a disgrace to all the people who have given their lives in all the wars and made sacrifices to keep our freedoms alive.
When the 2 percent rich can sway voters and win on less than 30 percent of all the eligible voters, it's ridiculous.
The $4 billion spent on midterm elections could really help those in need.
I hope that someday we will make it a law that you either vote or you are sent to a country outside the United States.
