We should receive same health care as Congress

Feb. 7, 2011 11:01 pm
The Jan. 23 Gazette “Votes in Congress” section contained a congressional health care proposal to “repeal the new health care law for their constituents.” The Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan is a taxpayer-subsidized program that provides extensive health insurance for nearly all members of Congress and their families as well as millions of civil servants, former lawmakers and federal retirees and their spouses.
If the taxpayers are subsidizing this insurance and if Obamacare is repealed, will this particular form of health insurance be available to the constituents? Might it be possible to know more about the cost and provisions that are given to Congress? Could the same insurance be offered to constituents? What would similar coverage and benefits cost constituents?
