We should have gotten your names

It was a year ago that my husband Greg and our dog Candy were out for their daily walk when someone carelessly let their pit bull out as they left the house. Greg and Candy didn't have a chance. Candy ended up with 18 staples, 35 stitches, two drainage tubes and a hole in her larynx. Greg suffered severe cuts to his hands, his glasses broken, jeans and coat torn from laying on top of Candy to keep this dog from dragging her down the sidewalk.
But this is not a letter about another irresponsible pet owner, but a letter of gratitude. These kind people lived near by. This was not the first time they had witnessed an attack by a dog from this same house. They scooped up Greg and Candy, put them in the back seat of their car and drove them to the emergency pet hospital by the airport. Once Candy was in treatment, they drove Greg to the hospital for his injuries. Greg cannot recall their names or house. We desperately want them to know how grateful we are for their act of kindness. How they sprung into action when he could barely think. We want them to know she is OK, he is OK. They still walk every day, and he thinks about how this would not be possible if you two had not been there that day. We hope this finds you, so we can thank you, thank you so very much.
