We need to find our purpose again

Sometimes I hardly recognize this country that I love. Lack of character abounds. Pride in government is lost. The world's view of America seems to be held in a dim light. What has happened to our beloved America?
We are in a divided house that needs to find its footing and purpose again. Our strength is in joined and shared views of justice and a foundation for peace. Chaos and negativity produce the same.
Our children are confused as to what America has always stood for which is the betterment of each individual under fair laws interpreted by just leaders. Where is the justness when leaders mock anyone who opposes their views. Good solutions to problems come from listening to each other and respecting differences.
I have hopes in a brighter horizon for us all when America stands for what she represents, a beacon to the world.
