We need good doctors, not fancy buildings

When I was diagnosed with cancer a year ago, I didn't want a big fancy building. I didn't want a waiting room full of expensive paintings and I didn't want a state-of-the-art parking lot.
What I needed was a doctor whose knowledge of cancer treatment brought me through a very difficult year. A doctor who calmed my fears and put my welfare first. Who constantly worried about my pain and suffering. Who took time to call my hospital room and check on me while he was out of town. Who stopped at my house (twice) after leaving the hospital each time.
I found what I needed in Dr. Chirantan Ghosh, a brilliant, compassionate and caring doctor. He takes care of us, not for the money, but because he wants to save lives, and mine is one of them.
Thank you, Dr. Ghosh. Shame on you, Physicians' Clinic of Iowa. Apparently you thought we wanted a fancy new medical building, but we don't. What we need is more doctors like Dr. Ghosh.
