We need a governor who cares about Iowans
Jul. 25, 2022 6:30 am
We all agree we want the governor of Iowa to care deeply about the citizens of our state. We want our governor to lead in the building of the best schools possible for our children which means our tax dollars will go to our public schools and corporate tax dollars will support that.
The governor, in one of the first states in the country to legalize same-sex marriages and rights, would continue openly to respect those rights. LGBTQ Iowans would not only feel at home here but others would come from other states without fear of discrimination by our governor. Reproductive rights would also be respected and supported with our health care by that governor. The children of Iowa would swim without fear of the waters being polluted by big ag corporations. Tourists would fish and swim in our clean waters. These are some of the values a governor would possess if they cared deeply about Iowans.
Who would that governor be? Not Gov. Kim Reynolds, who openly sides with big business over Iowans when it comes to the values mentioned above. Deidre DeJear is the candidate who cares deeply about Iowa’s citizens. She has my vote. Give her yours.
