Water and Land Legacy deserves 'yes' vote
N/A
Oct. 19, 2010 3:31 pm
On Nov. 2, Iowans have a chance of a lifetime to vote for Iowa's Water and Land Legacy Amendment. The amendment would provide for a permanent source of revenue to finance soil conservation programs for farmers and wetland projects that will help alleviate flooding in our communities.
It also would clean up our water, support parks, recreation and trails, and protect forests and habitat for wildlife and game. Iowa would no longer be 49th in the nation for protected land and 47th for financial support of natural resources.
The amendment addresses the quality of life, recreation and economic growth, as well as the need for conserving Iowa's most important treasures, our rich black soil and clean water. Vote "Yes" for Iowa's Water and Land Legacy.
