Wake up … and do your part

“Wake up and smell the coffee.” How many times have we heard this phrase in reference to someone needing to get honest with themselves, to face reality or to pay attention to what is going on around them? Across this great country and in fact across Iowa, more and more of us are waking up!
Let’s face it, the American people are smart, and be it Democrat or Republican you don’t have to look too far to realize that this country is in trouble. We have a border crisis, high unemployment, the cost of a gas is through the roof and the current administration would rather change the definition of “recession” than deal with the fact that we are in one!
What does that have to do with you and me? Everything! You see, it’s time that we take note of how far we have fallen and then wake up and get involved in making a difference in our local school boards, our cities, our county, and our state. As our schools go, so go the cities and as the cities go, so go the counties, the states, and the nation. It all starts with you and me!
If you’re awake, find a local candidate and volunteer your time by making phone calls or helping with lit drops, door knocking, delivering signs, walking in parades or whatever else needs done. Do your part, make a difference!
