Voters have right to amend state constitution
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Sep. 29, 2011 12:47 pm
A vote against Liz Mathis is not a vote against whether she is liked or not. It is a vote to restore our constitutional right to vote on a marriage amendment.
Sen. Mike Gronstal already has said he will block again Iowan's right to use our constitutionally guaranteed right to amend our state constitution.
Please, Linn County, residents, help the rest of Iowa to be able to exercise that right. Nothing personal against Liz. If same-sex marriage is so accepted, then let the voters of Iowa at least have a say as to the truth of that or not!
