Voters can’t trust Obama’s promises

When Sen. Barack Obama ran for president in 2008, he promised he would balance the federal budget in four years, compromise with the Republicans to pass the best possible legislation to set the economy back on track, and that his administration would release requested information quickly.
He never kept those promises. Later when promoting “ObamaCare,” he promised that “if you like your doctor, you can keep him” knowing that legislation was designed to drive private companies out of the medical insurance business, reduce payments for medical services, and did not attempt to lower medical malpractice insurance costs, but legislated that a politically appointed board be appointed to determine how Medicare patients will be treated so Medicare expenses can be kept as low as possible.
President Obama also promised not to raise taxes on the incomes of taxpayers earning less than $250,000 a year, yet “ObamaCare” adds other new taxes, most of which apply down to incomes of $60,000. His proposed budget for 2012 would have increased taxes on capital gains, corporate dividends and the taxes on small businesses, thereby lowering the returns of many pensions and IRAs.
Meanwhile, excessive government delays and unnecessary regulations have increased the cost of electricity, gasoline, food, clothing and transportation up to 30 percent in three years. Obama can't be trusted. Let's replace him with Mitt Romney on Nov. 6.
