I’m excited by the candidacy of Angel Ramirez for Iowa House District 78 — a true changemaker who is “walking the walk” when it comes to responding to the needs of our community.
Angel is the cofounder and executive director of Our Future, a nonprofit organization that invests in young people facing barriers to service and advocacy work. The program pays fellows a livable wage, provides professional mentorship, and connects them to meaningful roles in local organizations.
Rather than waiting for someone else to act, Angel created an empowering and uplifting solution to a real problem. This is exactly the kind of modern vision we need in the Statehouse. Her inclusive leadership style doesn’t dismiss previous generations or those who may have different ideas — in fact, she invites everyone to contribute their wisdom and shared hope for the future.
Electing Angel Ramirez will energize a new generation of Iowans to stay and build their lives here, while inspiring others to return and help shape a more prosperous, inclusive, forward-looking Iowa.
Please join me in voting for Angel Ramirez on or before April 29.
