Vote Podzimek for Supervisor

Our county is fortunate that Tom Podzimek is running for Linn County supervisor. His two terms on the Cedar Rapids City Council demonstrated to me that he is a very thoughtful and knowledgeable person in the matters of public policy. He willingly took on additional duties for the council and never dropped the ball.

He has special expertise with regard to natural resources and how to best use and conserve them. He knows that supervisors serve the residents of the county and that to live in Linn County provides its residents the opportunity to enjoy what is here, as well as the responsibility to maintain it for those who follow. He chaired the Solid Waste Agency and he was very evenhanded in his leadership and I expect that he will not show favoritism to either city or county in the role of supervisor.

As the former mayor of Cedar Rapids and a colleague of Podzimek on the City Council, I can without reservation, endorse him for election to the Linn County Board of Supervisors.
