Vote out MAGA Republicans who harm immigrants

Thanks to The Gazette for the recent article “Iowa joins challenge to immigration program.” It reveals the sad, shameful way Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and MAGA Republicans like to pick on and punish new immigrant Iowans.

Most of us know that families, in all the ways we create and care for them, are essential foundations in our communities. But Bird’s joining a challenge to President Biden’s “parole in place” program for spouses and children of U.S. citizens is just another attempt to divide and distract us so we look the other way while she and other MAGA Republicans take away our health care, dismantle hunger programs and destroy public schools. All this to hand over more to their billionaire buddies and big dollar donors. Bird works to stop helpful immigration policies, putting the rich ahead of families who’ve waited years to be reunited. That ain’t right!

We all do better when we all do better together. When we help our neighbors in need get through to better times, we make our communities stronger.

We deserve common-sense solutions that put our values first, creates fair immigration processes and moves us all forward together. That means respecting people’s basic rights, keeping families together and creating a way for those who wish to be citizens.

During this election season let’s stop kicking around kids, women and their families. Instead, let’s kick out of office MAGA Republicans who work hard to do us all harm.
