Vote early to keep 21-only law in place

Iowa law makes it easy to vote early. Just call or visit your county auditor for information.
In Iowa City, we have the chance to keep a city ordinance that allows only people over 21 to be in bars after 10 a.m. The ballot words ask you to repeal the ordinance. I voted “no” to repeal it. The ordinance has been in effect only four months. That's not long enough to see whether it will help reduce underage drinking and calm the bar scene in Iowa City. We should keep the ordinance and give it time to work; it makes sense for our health and city.
