Vote Blum to serve 1st District

There are two distinct choices in the race for Iowa's 1st District congressman.

Pat Murphy is a big-government, tax-and-spend, 'liberal's liberal” who enjoyed 25 years in the Iowa Legislature. While there, Murphy helped create legislation that kills jobs and stifles the economy.

Rod Blum is a lifelong entrepreneur who has run businesses, provided good-paying jobs and met countless budgets.

I worked for Blum at Eagle Point Software for 10 years. I know him and trust him. He believes in loosening government's stranglehold on good people like him, small businessmen and women who are trying to create jobs.

He will fight to shrink the federal government and eliminate some of the extreme control its alphabet bureaucracies have on your life. He understands government intervention at home and abroad has unintended consequences that affect the American people.

He will not fall prey to K Street lobbyists' or big corporations' pocket-lining payoffs. He won't be a sellout to the power and money of Washington.

Murphy believes big government has all the answers. Blum believes 'we the people” are the answer.
