Vote against anti-violence bill was a vote against women

I am a 67-year-old Iowa woman. I've seen a lot of change in our state over the years but now I feel afraid.
As a woman who lived in Iowa during the women's rights movement of the 1970s, I just cannot believe that my representative in the 1st District, Ashley Hinson, would vote against the Violence Against Women Act. (VAWA).
In 1919, the Iowa Legislature voted to ratify the 19th Amendment, which ensured women the right to vote. It is now 2021 and Ashley votes against women? What is going on?
Women make up 49.6 percent of Iowa's total population. So why are we not protecting those women who need our help? I went to the 1st District office for answers, and got none. If you want answers too, call Hinson's office.
I am thankful to those who did vote with their heart for the reauthorization of the 1994 law protecting and providing resources for victims of domestic and sexual violence. If Hinson is not fighting for women, who is she fighting for?
