Veteran humbled by Honor Flight

Veterans and guardians met on Oct. 5 for an Honor Flight orientation by the volunteer staff. This prepared us for the flight to Washington, D.C. on Oct. 21.
Volunteers were with us the entire day and we visited nine memorials plus the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery.
The only thing we were not prepared for was the welcome, cheering crowd on our return. With the band and all the various organizations and individuals, it was impossible to greet everyone, but to all those there, the volunteers and Quaker Oats, that made this possible, a big humble thanks.
