I've known Monica Vernon for most of my life. She is one of the hardest-working people I know. She sees and knows what has to be done and sets her sights to accomplish these tasks. She is a proven leader, someone who looks at the challenge to make this a better city to live in and goes after it.
That's what Cedar Rapids needs and we have that opportunity on election day with your vote for progress, your vote to re-elect Monica to District 2 City Council.

Patel a strong voice for minorities in Iowa City
Iowa City is at an impasse. There are several issues facing the community and the most efficient leaders must be elected to help us during this time.
Iowa City is made up of 13 percent minorities, which happens to be one of the largest minority populations in the state and growing. The only elected official who is a minority is stepping down from the City Council. Raj Patel would be a strong voice for the minorities of the city.
Alongside his strong business prowess, Raj also understands the concerns of our less fortunate citizens. From volunteering time with younger folks to taking the time to listen to the concerns of all Iowa City inhabitants, Raj will help bridge the growing gap between perception of our lower-incomes neighborhood and the reality.
Patel has proved his commitment to work with all constituencies to make Iowa City better every day. He is willing to put his many talents to use by serving on the City Council. Vote for him on Nov. 8.
