Vernon uses calm judgment

I want to lend my support for Monica Vernon for the District 2 seat on the Cedar Rapids City Council. When I think about what Monica brings to the council, I think about my training as an NFL game official. We were always taught to use common sense, be consistent in our judgments and to keep things calm and on “cruise control.”

I see Monica as embodying all of those things. She demonstrates common sense each meeting in her questions and suggestions, she remains consistently pro Cedar Rapids while listening actively to citizens concerns and acting on them. I also see her as working with her fellow council members and city staff to keep our city on cruise control heading steadily toward our goals of a better place to live.
