Residents of the 1st Congressional District need a smart, well-informed representative who has the gumption to vote her mind and the intellectual ability to turn research into action. That candidate is Democrat Monica Vernon.
I have known Vernon most of my life. I have watched her perform repeatedly, as a kind neighbor, as an active and inspirational parent, as a respected businesswoman, and as a committed community volunteer and leader. I've worked closely with her on a variety of volunteer projects. While she always has impressed me with her leadership qualities, she also has demonstrated the ability to be a valuable and contributing board member when she is not in charge. She is driven to instigate growth and prosperity in our community. She has demonstrated her loyalty to the community and her commitment to progress. Her leadership on the City Council, particularly during the flood recovery, helped get our community back on its feet. We could not be more fortunate.
Join me in voting for Vernon in Tuesday's primary. You may be confident that she will represent you thoughtfully in Washington, D.C.
