Vernon shows independent thinking

Since I began driving 40 years ago, Second and Third avenues were the way I went downtown and back. I went downtown on Tuesday, which prompted me to write this letter. There are a number of reasons to be unhappy with the actions of the present City Council. Closing Second Avenue is the major one for me.
However, voters should be careful and not blame all the present council for that decision. The one incumbent who is running for re-election this year, Monica Vernon, opposed closing Second Avenue. This kind of judgment and independent thinking deserves re-election.
