Vernon promotes bipartisanship first

During the primary season, politicians usually appeal fervently to the party base, but the winner then tries to appeal to all voters by claiming to be the bipartisan candidate. I support candidate Monica Vernon for the 1st District House of Representatives because she is the only candidate who has promoted bipartisanship from the beginning of her campaign.
Her background reflects a willingness to work with all stakeholders as she held a non-partisan City Council position in Cedar Rapids, worked with a variety of agencies, politicians and non-governmental organizations to rebuild Cedar Rapids after the flood and understands that governing requires all sides working together toward a common goal.
The 1st District needs someone such as Vernon to ensure that we remain strong in our economy and smart in our values.
