Vernon one of the city's most dynamic leaders

Tuesday represents an opportunity for Cedar Rapids to re-elect one of its most dynamic leaders - Monica Vernon. Our family has known Monica for more than 15 years and in that time we have seen and often worked alongside her in many community initiatives. I think it is particularly noteworthy that she spent several decades serving on community boards and volunteering in a number of economic and community development minded activities as a volunteer. Her commitment to volunteerism has enabled her to bring a deeper sense of understanding to her role as a member of the City Council.

In addition, her dedication to being available and responding to citizen requests is unparalleled. During her first term, she consistently held a number of District 2 meetings at a variety of locations. Also, her commitment to responding to citizen requests via email or phone calls is amazing.
