Use the U.S. military to stop the slaughter in Ukraine

I implore the president to use the U.S. military to stop the slaughter in Ukraine.
The excuse that it might escalate to World War III seems sound on the surface. It falls apart on closer inspection. Putin has proved himself to be a murderous psychopath who has clearly stated his objective to reconstitute the former USSR. He will not stop with Ukraine. The Baltic States and Poland will follow; and sooner rather than later if the economic sanctions remain. WW III has already started.
Putin is like Adolf Hitler. In Mein Kampf Hitler wrote “ … German-Austria must return to the great German motherland, and not because of economic considerations of any sort. …”
World War II did not start with Poland in September, 1939. It started with the capitulation and denial of European nations at Hitler’s “annexation” of Austria in March 1938.
What good is "The most powerful military on earth" with a nuclear arsenal equal to Russia's if Putin's threats allow him to send a democratic country of 40 million people into the stone age, with significant terrorizing, maiming, and killing along the way. Sanctions won’t help the husbands, wives and children in Ukraine; they need air power and boots on the ground now.
All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
