Use speed-camera fines to aid military families
The Gazette Opinion Staff

When you break a law and you get caught, you get penalized. This is the way it works in America.
To put things in perspective about these traffic camera “speeding tickets,” let's use the money collected from now until the end of the year and buy gifts for military families and the military men and women serving overseas. If it were not for our servicemen and women, we would not have the freedoms we cherish and laws to abide by to keep our America, the beautiful.
I admit I speed. If I get caught, so be it. I'm proud to be an American. I'll pay my fine. Might not work into my budget at the time, but so be it. I broke the law. It's just plain and simple, people. Why, why are you making it so hard?
Thank you, veterans. You have and are making a difference. Even speeding tickets are in our freedom heritage somewhere.
