Use camera revenue for flood protection

KCRG-TV9 news said the Cedar Rapids traffic cameras made about
$3.1 million since they were installed. If that is the case, why don't they use some of that money for street repairs and a flood protection wall instead of raising taxes? The finances in most households are tight enough. When we need extra money, we can't just raise our paychecks for it, so why should the county and the city be able to raise theirs whenever?
The city should quit wasting money on cleaning up its flooded-out buildings that are built in the middle of a river. With the money we have spent on the buildings in the river, we could have bought the entire (Westdale) mall and had lots of parking.
