Urge candidates to act on climate

To the editor:
I had the privilege to make it onto stage at a Bernie Sanders rally. I sat front and center and listened as he made good points about the future of our nation.
Sen. Sanders' views may be different from those of many people, but he did make excellent points about the state of nation, specifically about climate change. In his words: 'the debate (on climate change) is over.” Sanders went on to talk about the effects that climate change will have on weather such as more droughts, floods, increasing temperatures, etc. He also made the point that his colleagues should follow his lead and care less about 'campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry” and more 'about their kids, their grandchildren, and the future of this country.”
I urge you to also jump on this bandwagon (not just the Bernie bandwagon) and demand that politicians stop being so concerned about their interest groups and who is funding their campaigns and be more concerned about the people who they are trying to represent.
Let us, the American people, not forget that politicians are meant to represent the people and their interests - as well as future generations - not just the interests of Big Business.
