Up to you to overcome homosexual weakness

Contrary to popular belief, scientists have not discovered a “gay gene” or different brain configuration in people who identify as homosexuals.
Scientists attempting to find the biological basis for homosexuality have concluded that homosexual inclinations are a complex combination of biological, psychosocial and personal choice (not necessarily cognizant awareness) factors.
We've heard much about the out-of-state groups and money involved in the campaign to oust the Iowa Supreme Court justices.
It all sounds very familiar, as the out-of-state groups Lambda Legal and Human Rights Campaign funded lawyers to research state constitutions, then lined up and prepared litigants for the purpose of challenging Iowa's marriage law.
These and other groups fund “scientific” studies, but, upon further review, don't stand up to scrutiny. This is how ideas, such as unwanted “homosexual feelings can't be changed,” perpetuate.
We are all created in the image and likeness of God, but none of us is perfect. God gives laws in part to show each of us where we fall short of His perfection.
It is in our pursuit of living His commandments that we become more like our spiritual Father. It is our duty to search His commandments, discover our weaknesses and strive with His and others' help to overcome them.
