U.S. Postal Service deserves our respect

Because the holiday season has started, do we understand that when you drop the letter or post card or package, etc., in the mail how many hands it will cross before it gets to the person to whom you have sent it?
The mail could be handled in excess of 20 pairs of hands. That's without including delivery trucks and rural route carriers.
This is a worldwide team effort. If one person fails, there is much support, so the mail can get through weather, traffic, etc. The mail must and will get through if humanly possible.
For the most part, the U.S. Postal system is made up of veterans. They are proud to serve you. The life of a postal employee to say the least is hectic due to scheduling. So your time spent with your loved ones is very precious.
Now think about what that one 44-cent stamp does for a very important person like you.
