I got up early on Friday morning to watch The Wedding and enjoyed all the feeling of love that came from this delightful event. Friday, I enjoyed, with my dear friend, a visit to the Kalona Quilt show. All weekend I watched the Decorah Eagles and played in the sunshine in my yard.
Settling down on Sunday night, I was watching my favorite program when it was interrupted by a special report. It was worth the interruption to know that the world was rid of a menace to the American people.
Monday morning, I woke to my Cedar Rapids Gazette article that told me that the Boy Scout's Lady Liberty statue was being renovated. I have missed this statue since it was damaged in the flood. Kudos to the workers who are bring her back to life. And please, Art Council, return her to that beautiful copper patina that is on the real thing.
How very lucky we are to live in America that we have men and women willing to go the distance to give me the right to enjoy these things. God bless America and all she stands for.
