Try being fans of all of Iowa’s college teams

Fans! This year and from now on until the rest of my days, I pledge my fandom and allegiance to all Iowa college teams.
I’m always gonna’ root for my Hawkeyes first. You always really have a favorite!
Here’s the reason for my spreading the love around. For one, our state has no pro teams. As Iowans we latch on to various Iowa colleges, Kernels, Roughrider hockey & major pro teams.
College teams in Iowa come in all shapes and sizes. Locally, I like it when Coe does well. I’m pleasantly surprised by what UNI and Drake do. So here’s my plan, and it’s coming at the right time to start my statewide admiration. Hawkeye basketball is done this year. No problem. I’m cheering for the Cyclone men's and women’s hoop teams. It just makes sense.
I’m hopeful my Hawkeye football and basketball teams will reach nirvana, but by adding all Iowa teams to my black book, my seasons have a better chance of longer survival. I even may go further. Who feels BIG 10 pride when our conference does well in national title hunts. The Iowa Big Ten tournament champion Hawkeyes, whet my whistle, and the occasional Iowa bowl game victory helps sooth many seasons of “what if?”
So this is it, I love all fans of Iowa and Linn County sports. I might even buy your t- shirts or ball caps.
