Trump’s idea to arm teachers is absurd

President Donald Trump's absurdity of guns in the hands of teachers would serve as a lesson to teach children that they too need a gun to use on another human. And his promotion of the idea that the possession of such guns can and should be kept a well-known secret encourages children to believe that they, their teachers and everyone else should be as willing to be devious and dishonest as is Trump. Thus schooled in disregard for simple honesty, what and where is the limit?

In place of happy childhood squealing and chatter on the playground, might some child be heard offensively boasting of anything and everything in like issue of Trump's locker-room talk - to be offensively heard on the back of the bus and playground, but to be dismissed from any serious consideration everywhere else?

The National Rifle Association has done enough damage by turning too much of our land into a combat zone and some schools have randomly become killing fields. In promotion of more of the same, Trump has allied himself to the interests of CEO Wayne LaPierre whose NRA skims in huge sums of money from gun sales that are promoted by spreading fear, distrust and discord - which would be augmented by using educational institutions to twist minds into believing they must go forth armed with a willingness to injure others they expect to pose a threat or provoke displeasure.

Do Trump and Republican elected officials who can still tolerate him have no shame?
