Trump vowed to defend Constitution

President Donald Trump claims that he can pardon himself. Here are some troubling implications: the president can break any law and then pardon himself. Or, stated another way, he can commit any crime and then, ultimately, he can pardon himself and cause the miscarriage of justice.
President Donald Trump took an oath to defend the Constitution. The Constitution is why we are a nation of laws. But this president thinks it is acceptable to place himself above or outside the Constitution.
What will the United States Congress do about this?
