I am not sure which disappoints me more, Trump’s lies or his character. My favorite Trump falsehood is his claim (made in Mason City) that magnets don’t work if they get wet. I urge all the MAGA folks who wear “Trump Was Right About Everything” hats to put a magnet in water and see for yourself.
Sadly, many MAGA folks value fealty to Trump over truth as does Trump. He has fired several people simply because the information they provided was not what he wanted. That’s like firing a meteorologist for predicting rain when you wanted a sunny day. Trump hired a crackpot to be in charge of our health care system. His fawning cabinet meetings look like ones from North Korea. Trump’s claims about the 2020 election are both laughable and dangerous. The cases were heard in over 100 courtrooms and zero judges (including over 40 appointed by Trump) found serious problems. But the MAGA crowd still insists the election was stolen. It’s like a basketball team losing 103 to 0 and insisting that they actually won the game, but the scorekeepers and refs were unfair.
Presidents should be role models. Trump is dishonest, mean, hateful, selfish, vengeful, and narcissistic. He thinks he is a king. No one should want their children to imitate that kind of behavior. It is time for the MAGA crowd to put a magnet in water and seek truth, not fealty. Wet magnets still work. Time to change your hats.
