Trapping devices kill indiscriminately

I found the March 24 article “Top trapper” to be quite disturbing.
My most vivid memory of the cruelty of this type of trapping occurred when I found a neighbor's trap with a rabbit that was still alive. It had chewed off much of its front foot in order to free itself from the “jaws of death.” I released it but wondered how long its suffering would continue.
Traps are indiscriminate killing devices and their victims are often mammals that have caused little harm in these wildlife habitats.
