Trade wars disrupt the world economy

The tariffs we are putting on other countries are going to disrupt the world economy and penalize almost everyone for what we gave away freely.

If we wanted to keep our industrial and technological secrets to ourselves, we should not have let foreign nationals into our universities, sold companies to foreigners or sent our agricultural expertise around the world. It is our own fault this information is in the hands of the Chinese and other countries.

Our universities wanted the money from the students, company owners wanted the money from the sales, and we decided to help the world food crisis by showing other countries how to grow better crops.

If we want to keep ahead of the other countries, we need to keep coming up with new inventions and new ideas. If we want to stay a democracy and land of the free, we need to keep inventing and creating things to make the world a better place.

The only alternative is to build the walls and isolate ourselves. Isolationism never has worked because we don't benefit from the rest of the world's new ideas and inventions.
