Trade assistance for higher wages?
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I'm all for raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. By doing this, maybe we can quit having to dole out our tax moneys for these government support programs.
I wonder if the individuals who want to earn a higher wage realize that by getting this they may have to give up something such as food stamps, subsidized housing and various other government support programs. Sure they will be making more money but now they will have to pay for what they use to get free.
Be careful what you wish for.
