Tougher punishments for criminals

I was shocked and appalled when I used the restroom at a CVS and pulled the baby changing table down and found six to eight empty packages of merchandise that had been stolen. Don't people learn the Ten Commandments where it says 'Thou shalt not steal?”
In Saudia Arabia they cut off a thief's hand for stealing. If that law were in the U.S., there would be less theft. When Jesus comes in the clouds, all sinners will burn in the lake of fire. Food for thought.
